During the upcoming Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) Climate Week, the Partnership on Transparency together with the Climate Policy Programme Brazil are hosting the side event: Ready for the BTR? Implications of the Katowice Rulebook for Latin American countries. It will take place on Tuesday, August 20 at 13:30h - 14:25h in Room SDG 7.

In particular, this session aims to support countries to be prepared for the submission of BTRs in 2024 by:

  • Developing a first draft version of a Roadmap for the submission of the first BTR from now on until the end of 2024
  • Establishing/ maintaining a network to exchange experiences and good practice, and to support each other also after this event.

The session will first present the new requirements of the Rulebook and propose a Roadmap template that each country can adapt according to its individual capacities and priorities. All participants have the opportunity to share experiences and plans on how to prepare for 2024, and to establish a first draft of individual Roadmaps in the working groups. Countries are finally encouraged to continue the exchange and to further develop the Roadmap template in the framework of the LAC Regional Group of the Transparency Partnership, the LEDS GP and the RedINGEI networks.
