Annual Partnership Retreat 2025
The Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement (PATPA) is excited to announce that it will host the 12th Annual Partnership Retreat (APR) from August 28 to September 2, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand. PATPA is a joint initiative launched in 2010 by Germany, South Africa, and the Republic of Korea, and is funded by Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI).
The Annual Partnership Retreat offers a space for open and constructive exchange between developed and developing countries on transparency-related topics and their linkages to other processes under the Paris Agreement. Discussions will focus on national experiences in preparing and submitting their first Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs), technical challenges and practical solutions in applying the Modalities, Procedures and Guidelines (MPGs), and initial reflections on potential topics for the MPG review.
The event is designed for BTR coordinators and transparency negotiators from approximately 40 countries that have submitted their first BTRs. It will also include representatives from key UNFCCC negotiation groups, international organizations, and think tanks.
PATPA is looking forward to the 12th edition of the APR, which promises to ensure fruitful discussions and interactive formats in an inspiring atmosphere.
Participation is by invitation only.
