The PATPA Secretariat receives the Facilitation Impact Award 2026: A recognition to collaborative climate action
We are proud to announce that the Secretariat of the Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement (PATPA) has been recognized as an awardee of the Facilitation Impact Awards (FIA) 2026, presented by the International Association of Facilitators (IAF), a non-profit organization and global network that connects facilitators across regions, cultures, and sectors.
This recognition is not just an honor, it is a tribute to every practitioner, negotiator, facilitator, partner country, network partner, and peer expert who has sat across the table (or screen) with us, fostering the practical exchange and political dialogue on climate transparency since 2010.
What the Facilitation Impact Award means
The Facilitation Impact Awards honors organizations that have achieved a positive, measurable impact using facilitation. Nominees are evaluated against rigorous criteria: demonstrable results, organizational impact, and fidelity to the IAF core facilitation competencies such as collaborative relationships, a participatory environment, and building and maintaining professional knowledge.
Receiving this award affirms that how we bring people together matters as much as what we discuss. In the world of climate transparency, where national contexts differ vastly and trust must be earned step by step, skilled facilitation has become the very engine of progress.
PATPA is built on collaboration and sustained by participation
Since the origins of PATPA, the focus has been on supporting the climate international efforts by facilitating dialogue and practitioner-based exchanges. Our workshops, partnership meetings and retreats, and peer learning events are designed from the ground up to be genuinely participatory, structuring spaces where negotiators and practitioners share challenges, question assumptions, and build solutions together.
Besides our events, one of PATPA’s most distinctive contributions has been the creation and dissemination of knowledge products such as guidance documents, case studies, and analytical papers, which have been designed collaboratively, drawing on the lived climate transparency experiences of both developed and developing countries. This cycle of learning, sharing, and applying is what turns a partnership into something more durable: a community that strengthens itself through every exchange.
