BTR Roadmap GRT

Launch of the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) Guidance and Roadmap Tool | October 26 and 27 | PATPA & FAO

In two joint events, the Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement (PATPA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) launched the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) Guidance and Roadmap Tool on October 26 and October 27!

Around 130 participants joined the virtual launch events in which PATPA and FAO presented the tool to the public, showcased its features, use and abilities and gave detailed insight into the BTR Guidance and Roadmap Tool. A mid-event Menti poll revealed that most participants' countries have not yet started the process of developing the BTR. Questions raised by participants were answered throughout the virtual events and participants obtained first hand insight into how to use the tool. With a ficticious country example, participants were led through all six steps of the tool and presented with the final result: A GANTT-Style roadmap detailing the individual steps and activities that have to be implemented in a specific timeframe in order to develop the BTR. The Tool is not aimed at the AFOLU sector and instead, encompasses all sectors to enable the development of a complete and comprehensive BTR.

The Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) Guidance and Roadmap Tool aims at guiding developing countries in planning the preparation process of their first BTR as well as preparing a roadmap for implementing it. Being led through six main steps, users of this hands-on and highly interactive tool will learn about key elements to be considered when planning for a BTR and good practices and recommendations for improving the quality of the process over time. The tool is meant to facilitate long-term planning and help in structuring and elaborating a roadmap for the BTR process.

Recordings of both events can be found here (both events had the same agenda, participant questions however varied in the events):
