Tracking progress on implementing NDCs in Asia
From 24t to 26th April practitioners from developing and developed Asian countries as well as experts from various international organisations gathered in Jakarta, Indonesia, for a regional exchange on country experiences on the topic ‘Tracking progress on NDCs and reporting under the Enhanced Transparency Framework’.
The inputs, discussions and group work sessions centred on the following topics:
- Understanding climate transparency and outcomes of COP24
- Support needs and existing support for transparency
- Tracking progress on implementing NDCs in the energy sector and the agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU) sector
- Reporting under the enhanced transparency framework (ETF) and lessons learned from Biennial Update Reports (BURs) and National Communications (NCs)
The workshop was co-hosted by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia and organised by the GIZ 'Support Project for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement' (SPA) in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
