Introducing the World Bank’s New NDC Platform

The World Bank has just released a comprehensive resource on the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) developed by countries in the run-up to and since the Paris Agreement of December 2015 setting out national targets and actions on climate mitigation and adaptation.

The NDC Platform provides a full data snapshot of climate commitments, implementation, and self-reported cost estimates from 189 countries.

Developed by the World Bank since COP21, the platform also includes quick facts about INDCs, interactive maps that allow for visualization of NDC commitments and associated costs, and a detailed adaptation/ mitigation database.

Visit the NDC Platform to:

  • Identify what countries intend to do in particular sectors and sub-sectors and at what costs, if self-reported.
  • Download summary INDC country briefs.
  • Visualize, map, and compare aggregated data.

The NDC Platform is easily searchable and will help development practitioners to familiarize themselves with a range of country priorities and needs, including in capacity building, technology cooperation, and finance gaps.

Please note that all data collected in the database is self-reported by countries in their iNDCs, including estimated cost of implementation, when available.
