Estimating emissions and removals from forest degradation

The FAO has recently published a booklet offering an overview of the available methodological options that countries can employ to assess greenhouse gas emissions and carbon removals resulting from forest degradation.

Drawing on the experience from numerous countries and their respective challenges, the booklet summarizes the different approaches of these countries in estimating changes in carbon stock from forest degradation.
