Mexican-German Climate Change Alliance develops guide to design and implement a Transparency Agenda Information System for Actions at the Subnational Level (SIAT-Subnational)

The Mexican Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and a handful of subnational governments released a guide containing lessons learned, objectives, and methodology on their jointly created Transparency Agenda Information System for Actions at the Subnational Level (SIAT-Subnational).
The guide is a tool towards supporting other countries in developing similar systems based on Mexico's successful experience in monitoring, reporting, and verifying (MRV) climate action at the local level. The guide further enables the generation of transparent information for decision making and strengthening of capacities in municipalities and federal entities.

La Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales de México (SEMARNAT), la Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, y algunos gobiernos subnacionales publicaron una guía que contiene lecciones aprendidas, objetivos y metodología sobre el Sistema de Información de la Agenda de Transparencia de Acciones Climáticas a Nivel Subnacional (SIAT-Subnacional), creado conjuntamente por estas instituciones.
La guía es una herramienta para apoyar a otros países en el desarrollo de sistemas similares, basados en la exitosa experiencia de México en el monitoreo, reporte y verificación (MRV) de la acción climática a nivel local. La guía permite, además, la generación de información transparente para la toma de decisiones y el fortalecimiento de capacidades en municipios y entidades federativas.
