An overview of Mitigation Scenario Modelling Tools for the Energy Sector
The UNEP DTU Partnership published this document, covering and presenting a large variety of modelling tools for the energy sector. This in-depth overview can help countries to choose and apply the model that serves them best for assessing the different scenarios of national emission projections in their respective case.
The document provides a detailed presentation and comparison of the tools, as well as a selection criteria list. It also gives insight into the review of those modelling tools, as well as presenting some recent applications of different models in developing countries.
The document adresses current or future users of the tools, but also policy makers and experts in developing countries to facilitate a deeper understanding of emission modelling and its importance for countries' mitigation efforts.
