Event Date

The UNFCCC secretariat and the Consultative Group of Experts (CGE) will organize three regional webinars on the national benefits of climate change reporting on 26 July  (Asia and the Pacific) and 16/18 August (Latin America and the Caribbean).

The webinar series “How climate transparency arrangements matter at the national level – benefits of climate change reporting” aim to:

  • Showcase the potential national benefits of climate transparency;
  • Discuss processes and approaches that might be useful to deliver the national benefits of climate transparency;
  • Discuss often seen challenges to deliver the national benefits of climate transparency and possible ways to address them;
  • Showcase relevant experiences, lessons learnt and best practices from countries; and
  • Provide an interactive platform to share experiences and lessons learned.

The target audience will be experts and practitioners who: (1) are actively involved in the preparation of national communications, biennial update reports and national greenhouse gas inventories; (2) are or will be involved in planning for the implementation of the enhanced transparency framework (ETF); and (3) other climate actors who are not directly involved in the MRV/transparency systems, but could be potential beneficiaries of national benefits of climate transparency.
