Preserving the NDC knowledge with the NDC Handover Checklist

The Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement (PATPA) and Climate Analytics presented the NDC Handover Checklist in two separate events on December 15 and 16, 2021.

More than 50 participants from Asia, Africa and Latin America joined the events to get hand first-hand insights of how the tool was developed and learned about the relevant chapters of the tool as well details of their content. Key guidance was shared with the audience on how the Checklist can be filled in a collaborative approach and ensure its accessibility for ongoing and future processes.

The NDC Handover Checklist is a tool created for governments to document all information relevant to their NDC revision and update process. Its main objective is to maintain the knowledge of the key aspects from the recent NDC revision process and thereby prepare for future NDC update processes. The checklist is developed as a flexible template that can be tailored to the context of each country. Governments can fill in the checklist and share it with relevant stakeholders at their own discretion. The tool was developed based on the experience of GIZ and Climate Analytics as well as experts from partner organizations.
