PATPA co-organized an event on transparency on the final day of the Asia-Pacific Climate Week with about 90 participants. This session aimed to provide insights from countries about challenges, experiences and lessons learnt from the process of establishing MRV systems. It also briefed the audience on the main support programmes available in the region.

Based on a decision of Viet Nam´s National Assembly, the Ministry for the Environment (MONRE) is currently revising the Law on Environmental Protection (LEP). An important part of this process is updating the chapter on climate change to legalise the requirements resulting from the international climate change framework.

After four years of implementation, 22 percent of Costa Rica’s coffee production is low-carbon and sustainable. This success has become possible through the application of good agricultural practices and technology changes within the worldwide first Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action in agriculture.

Five new case studies have been added on carbon tax, on involving the public and private sector in climate change mitigation, on the process of a NAP formulation, on silvo-pastoral practices and on a multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral consultative approach.
