LAC Regional Workshop on Tracking Progress of the Mitigation Commitments of Nationally Determined Contributions, 23-25 October
Between the 23rd and 25th of October 2023, the Republic of Panama, the Capacity-Building Initiative for Transparency and Global Support Programme (CBIT-GSP) and the Partnership for Transparency in the Paris Agreement (PATPA) co-organised an in-person workshop in Panama City with the objective to support country teams in charge of reporting Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) mitigation commitments.
Over the three days, participants from the LAC region had the opportunity to gain an increased technical understanding of the goals, principles, and actions associated with the reporting process for NDC mitigation commitments. This included the exchange of country experiences on the application of systems of mitigation assessment, the identification of common challenges and opportunities for collaboration among country teams, and the learning from international experts on the use of support tools for the improvement of technical assessment, tracking and mitigation reporting.
