The African Regional Group held its first regional workshop in 2013. The group currently comprises around 30 developing countries throughout the region. Activities focus on sharing best practices, knowledge management, peer learning and capacity building. They aim to establish a basis for further consultation and collaboration among countries in the region. The Anglophone African Regional Group is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as well as the Global Support Programme (GSP) which is implemented jointly by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.

The group is open to all countries with an interest in learning about the topics of the Partnership on a peer-to-peer basis. The working language of this regional group is English.
